Date: 30 April 2024

Time: 13:00-15:00 (SAST)

Overview: The Institute for Pan-African Thought and Conversation (IPATC) at the University of Johannesburg (UJ) cordially invites you to a hybrid public lecture titled “There is no African Epistemology, only just a Universal Epistemology”. Dr Siseko, will interrogate the notion of an African epistemology, and explore whether the term ‘alternate epistemology’ is appropriate for knowledge that emerges from different cultural and geographical contexts. This inquiry stems from understanding epistemology as the science of knowing and whether there exists an alternate methodology for examining and comprehending alternate traditions.
