Overview: After more than 10 years of the “Silencing the Guns” agenda of the African Union (AU), the proliferation of violent conflicts continues unabated. Sudan and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) face escalating conflicts fueled by political instability, ethnic tensions, and resource struggles. In Sudan, fighting between the military and paramilitary forces has caused a humanitarian crisis. Meanwhile, in the DRC, rebel insurgencies and diplomatic rivalries have reached a dangerous level, threatening to destabilize regional stability. Thus, the webinar interrogates the root cause of the conflicts and offers sustainable pathways to peace and security.
