Dr. Nompumelelo Motlafi Francis ((formerly known as Motlafi) is a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow in the Global Excellence and Stature (GES) 4.0 for Societal Impact program at the University of Johannesburg. She is hosted by the Institute for Pan-African Thought and Conversation (IPATC). Dr. Motlafi holds a PhD in Political Science from the University of Pretoria, as well as a Master of Social Science and a Bachelor of Social Science degree in International Relations from the University of Cape Town. She has lectured on African Politics in the Department of Political Sciences at the University of South Africa for eight years. Dr. Motlafi’s research focuses on topics such as decolonial feminist thought, political identity and genocide, rape law reform, transitional justice, research ethics, and epistemic justice, all within the framework of Feminist Peace and Conflict Studies.
